Dear Jamestowner:
The Town is in the process of updating the 2004 Comprehensive Community Plan as required by Rhode Island State Law. The Plan, as updated, will guide future development of the Town.
This survey should take 15 minutes. Each voter and/or taxpayer should fill out only one survey. Please complete Survey by July 31, 2010.
This Community Survey will assist the Town Council and Planning Commission in setting future policies and goals for Jamestown that will guide the future development of the Town. The last citizen survey was distributed in 1999 and received an overwhelming 31% return rate. The responses were used extensively in the development of the 2004 Comprehensive Community Plan.
Please read the questionnaire carefully and answer all questions. Refer to the map link in the survey as needed to assist you in answering some of the questions.
1. The 1994 Comprehensive Plan states that since 1979 the overriding goal of the citizens of Jamestown has been “… to maintain the Island’s rural character”. Do you agree that this should remain the overriding goal?
2. Please indicate below which qualities you feel make Jamestown a desirable place to live.
Rank each as either 1 = very desirable, 2 = somewhat desirable, or 3 = not desirable
